The HiveWorking on building a better life. 12 September Back to the HiveWell readers I’m back to the land of the blogging. I have missed you all but look forward to hearing from you again.
I'm now calling my blog the "Hive". I adore Bees. Being that both my Grandfathers were Bee Keepers, I guess I get it honestly. My name, Melissa, means "honeybee" in Greek. So I thought if I would return to the land of blogging that I would surround myself with all the things I love.
I have been plenty busy taking care of business. TCB, for the Elvis fans. LOL New digital camera is now on my computer desk and that means loads of pictures to take and share. At the Hive, my home, this week I have for your viewing pleasures my wonderful new Vera Bradley purse. I’m a huge VB fan and have quite a few of their lovely purses. My stitching has, thankfully, picked back up and I will have a few pieces to share with you this week. I will start by showing you my wonderful LHN finish. It’s titled “ Pine Tree Hill”. This will soon be stitched up into a wonderful little door hanger and will proudly hang in my home in the up-coming Christmas season.Went shopping on E-Bay this morning and I’m now the proud owner of a few more charming antique buttons. They are so yummy looking and I can’t wait to incorporate them into my crafts. Thanks to "you know who" for keeping me in touch, in check, and for being a really good friend. 8 April A new day....The sun is shining and for this I'm most thankful. So tired and troubled of hearing Tornados Warnings. Spring is supposed to be a time of calm and re-awaking but so far it's been nothing but stress!!!
On the stitching front I have been a busy girl. All of my Easter cards for my nephews and neice are now finished!!
I have also started stitching BOAF "Holiday Seasons". This is a very enjoyable design to stitch. I think I will finish it as four seperate hanging banners of sorts. Something to hang with the appropriate seasons!!
As soon as I receive the Crescent Colours floss I need I will begin stitching LHN new design " The Counting House". I love this design!!! I'm going to hang it up in my bedroom and stare at it while I count sheep!!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!!
23 March Spring has SprungSpring is here and I couldn't be happier. I spent the first day of Spring with my dad, whose birthday it was. Nothing better than spending precious time with loved ones!!!
I have been very busy stitching , stitching and stitching. Finished a charity square, 2 more ornaments, 3 gifts and a small design for an exchange. Very rewarding feeling stepping back and looking at what all I have accomplished in the past few weeks.
Went shopping for my garden, the other day. Found some great Heirloom vegatables and flowers I want to try this year. Also bought a book on container gardening. I want to create" a huge herb container for my mom so that she has only to walk out on her deck and "pinch" off some fresh herbs, this summer!! I can already smell the Basil and Rosemary!!!!
I have stitched up a small gift for my mom for Easter. I'm giving her the "Just Nan Frost Flower Whimzi". Have you seen the new Whimzi, the March Hare?? Ohh I love it but I don't love the price. I always have a hard time spending money on myself, now if it was a gift I wouldn't hesitate. Do you think Just Nan has "SALES"? LOL LOL
1 March Love is in the air...I had a wonderful day yesterday with my DH. We celebrated our 20th Anniversary. We spent the entire day together. Went out for Tea and Coffee, a little shopping and came home and we watched movies, ate cake and drank Champagne. It was perfect!!!
On the stitching front I’m sad to say I'm very disappointed in my Just Nan "Whimzi Frost Flower" frame. The frame has four prism(s) like beads, which have been glued on. I can really see the glue on side. Now grant it if you stand back and look at the frame it looks beautiful but if someone goes in for a closer look they will see it. Also the 4 prism(s) like jewels are in fact beads!! You can clearly see the holes on both ends of the bead(s). I went back to my LNS and all of the frames remaining look like this. I will of course stitch the design and I will hang the frame I will just hang it out of eyes view.
I managed to finish the LHN "Spot of Tea" design. I will be having this framed next week. I have also been busy stitching on a charity square and have almost completed my 4th LK Christmas ornament. I can't wait to put all 12 of the ornaments on the white Feather tree; I will have to order, for Christmas. Another tree? Yes I will now have 5 or 6 Christmas trees the Holiday. Not near enough the number our friend Becky has!!! One day. I will catch up to her!! LOL LOL
Watched two movies yesterday. Walk the Line and Pride and Prejudice. Walk the Line was fantastic. I will definitely watch this one again and again. Pride and Prejudice well that's another story. I really didn't like this new version. I loved many of the actors like Donald Sutherland and of course Dame Judy Dench, but I felt the lead actress lacked a little something and the movie itself moved rather quickly. Not enough detail. I guess you could say I'm being "Prejudiced" against the new version because I'm such a huge fan of the original!! No groaning please on the pun!! Lol LOL
Okay I'm off now o kit up 4 future projects. Have a great day!!!!
Hugs -m-24 February Dear Diary.......Blogging....what is blogging? LOL
Speaking of stitching I have more S-A-L's then I can handle! But I'm hanging in there. I did manage a little stitching time to complete a very sweet San Man design . I will also post a pic of my LHN WIP. I was pleasantly suprised to find that when I opened the LHN chart for "Spot of Coffee", that there was also a version printed for "Spot of Tea". Since I'm a definite Tea drinker I have chosen to stitch the Tea version.
I broke down and bought a pair of Crocs. Crocs are, in my opinion, big ugly shoes, but darn it they are soooo comfortable!!! I wore my new pair all day yesterday and my feet have never been happier!!! The older I get the more my tatse in shoes look a little odd but the more comfortable they become!!! Good-bye heels hello AHHHHHHH!!!!!
Having a bit of "dry hands" crisis. This
Off to stitch a bit!!! I hope all of you have a wonderful day!!!
